The Sonoma County Backroad Challenge is an annual fundraising project of the Petaluma Sunrise Foundation. The Petaluma Sunrise Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Charitable Foundation, was established in 2010 by the Rotary Club of Petaluma Sunrise. Your participation in the Backroad Challenge as a rider, sponsor, volunteer or vendor allows us to continue to do great things for the community and internationally.
Rotary International is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto "Service Above Self", Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.
Rotary clubs serve communities around the world, each with unique concerns and needs. Rotarians have continually adapted and improved how they respond to those needs, taking on a broad range of successful and sustainable service projects.
